Khalif Khalifah, known as the 'Father of Independent Black Publishing' founded United Brothers & United Sisters Communications Systems (U.B.U.S.) and has been been publishing authors since the 1980s.  We are here to assist with all of your book publishing needs including; typing manuscript, editing, proofreading, cover design.  We also assign ISBN# and barcodes registrations.

Chose from our vast collection of books for your wholesale needs; whether for a store, vending, or online sales.  Email us your request and a Wholesale Price List will be forwarded to you.  Select from hard-to-find and out-of-print titles to new authors.  Schedule a book signing with our authors to promote the sale of your selection(s).

The Nat Turner Library Bookstore is a repository for thousands of books written by Black authors on Black life, history and culture.  

The 1831 Gift Shop features historical collectible keepsakes including; T-shirts,  sweat shirts, caps, mugs, plates, place mats, art, key chains, book markers, and much more!
